These tips will prepare you for a great experience at the Philadelphia Student Government Training Conference.
CONFERENCE LOCATION

The conference is being held at Moore College of Art & Design, 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

1. Raise money for conference

Here are seven ways to raise money to pay for this ASGA conference.

2. Register for conference

Complete the registration form and e-mail ASGA at conferences@asgaonline.com to confirm. Register early and save money. ASGA members also save $100 per person.

3. Reserve hotel room(s)

Start at the Hotels page. The official conference hotel is the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City, 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19103. The hotel phone is 215-561-1776.

4. Purchase airline ticket(s)

ASGA recommends that you fly if it would take you more than eight hours to drive.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is about 10 miles from the conference hotel and venue, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City.

Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) and Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) are additional options for air travel. ACY is about 55 miles from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City, while ABE is about 65 miles from the hotel.

5. Arrange for ground transportation

Remember that you will need transportation to and from your hotel, restaurants, and attractions. If you stay at the official conference hotel, Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center Cityyou can walk to the conference location, Moore College of Art & Design.

Taxis
Taxis can be picked up at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway at the Philadelphia International Airport.

Uber may be a cheaper option.

All taxi rates are based per trip not per person. Most taxis can accommodate up to 3 passengers. In some cases certain vehicle types can accommodate 4 passengers.

There is a $10.00 minimum fare from the Airport to any destination.

Other fares based on the meter which based upon entry (flag drop) is $2.30 and $2.10 per mile or portion thereof. In addition you will be charged an additional $1.50 Airport fee. It is 10 miles from Philadelphia International Airport to the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City.

Public Transportation
The Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City is located within walking distance of both Suburban Station and Amtrak’s (1-800-USA-RAIL) 30th Street Station.

You can easily walk to museums, attractions, restaurants, or can take one of Philadelphia’s convenient “Flash” buses for about $1.00 which will take you anywhere in “Center City.”

Parking
Valet parking is available at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Center City for $53 per day.

6. Review and print directions

7. Wear “business casual”

Your attire should be “business casual” at all conference functions.

9. Bring business cards & college paraphernalia

Make sure you bring business cards, brochures, and fliers to exchange with other delegates.

10. Check the local weather

In March, it will be cool in Philadelphia and may be cool in meeting rooms, which are air-conditioned.

11. Review and print the Conference Schedule

Then you can decide on which workshops to attend and be aware of when the conference starts and ends.
